The 4SCO grew out of the Hendersonville Community Orchestra, which was founded in 2009 by conductor Robert Hudson, and the Jubilee Summer Orchestra, founded by Earl Hefley in Asheville in the early 1990’s.

The 4SCO name reflects the natural beauty of our mountain home, and the breadth experience found among our professional, amateur, and student musicians.

In addition, we aspire to create exciting concert programming featuring traditional and contemporary art, folk and popular music from a broad range of cultures and composers around the world, including masterpieces of the symphonic repertoire and music for stage and film
